The News & Observer of Raleigh said Monday it is offering voluntary buyout packages to some of its employees as it works to bring the newspaper's costs in line with its revenue.

The international news media have descended on the small Austrian town of Amstetten after a 73-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of keeping his daughter imprisoned in the cellar of his house for 24 years and of fathering seven children with her.

Pew Research released a new survey yesterday titled "Gen Dems: The Party’s Advantage Among Young Voters Widens," outlining a growing Democratic advantage with younger voters (age 18-29) in party identification. The report argues the shift in allegiance foreshadows even greater Democratic Party strength in the future.
